Scherler Sundays 05: Lavender Country

Still from video taken by Nate Reilly

The first returning featured guest on Low Profile, Patrick Haggerty, brings his six-piece Lavender Country band to the grassy knoll downtown. After a candid interview in front of the Scherler Sundays audience, the band's lively honky-tonk set serves as a framework for Haggerty to tell his fascinating life story using his songs as the soundtrack, making for a very special show celebrating almost 50 years since their release of the first openly queer-themed country album. Their current live performances consist of roughly equal parts storytelling and songs for one of the most energetic and engaging experiences around this side of Nashville.
Engineered by Robin Carmosino, behind the historic Carnegie Library in Olympia, WA.
Scherler Sundays is a collaborative effort from Low Profile and Three Magnets Brewing Company.
