17. Chumbawamba

Musician and author Danbert Nobacon spent 28 years as a founding member of the anarchist pop group Chumbawamba before the band called it quits in 2012. He shares stories about the group's origins and antics, from his first group Chimp Eats Banana, his frequent nudity, dousing the Deputy Prime Minister with a bucket of ice water at the 1998 Brit Awards, and his latest album "Mesmerica: Expect A Circus." If you thought you knew Chumbawamba based off of "that one song," you haven't heard anything yet!

Recommendations:

From their 1986 LP "Pictures of Starving Children Sell Records," this is the ultimate diss track.

And for something completely different, here is a sweetly sinister ballad sung by vocalist Alice Nutter from Chumbawamba's 1995 LP "Swingin' With Raymond."

And here is Danbert's latest double album we talked about during the interview.
